Libre Foundation Builds Leadership and Communication Skills in Mzuzu NGOs

Libre Foundation, a professional training organization from the Netherlands, has empowered leaders of local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Mzuzu with vital leadership and communication skills during a five-day workshop held at Ungweru premises.

The training, which ran from February 12–17, 2025, was facilitated by Libre Foundation trainers Iva Spanjersberg and Paul, focusing on equipping NGO leaders with practical tools to enhance their organizational impact.

“We provide training and coaching to strengthen leadership across organizations. Our aim is to support local leaders in developing countries to lead with confidence and effectiveness,” said Spanjersberg during the closing ceremony.

The sessions covered topics such as situational leadership, public speaking, conflict management, fundraising, and the Responsibility Coaching Model (RCM).

Allen Kumwenda, Executive Director of SPRODETA and training coordinator, encouraged participants to apply the lessons learned:

“This training has given us practical tools to lead better and inspire positive change in our communities.”

Participants echoed the training’s impact.
Isaac Chagwa of Grace Organization shared:

“It strengthened our capacity in leadership, resource mobilization, and conflict resolution. We’ve also built new networks for collaboration.”

The workshop brought together leaders from 17 local NGOs, including SPRODETA, Find Your Feet, PACE for Social Change, Extra Mile Development Foundation, National Women’s Lobby Group, SAFD, ECOD Malawi, Grace CFBO, Ungweru, Judith Foundation, Mzuzu Youth Association, YFIASD, and Youth Watch Society, among others.
